Slaying the beast?

Never been a big fan of St. George (or whoever) killing the dragon. It is supposed to represent the intellect or the church (faith) dominating the mystery of nature. For some reason that's never sat well with me, maybe because it is in nature that people tend to discover what's often best in and for them.

Anyway, this statue is in the main square of Tubingen, Annette's home town. The town is very picturesque of old Germany. Not much damage from WWII and perhaps the oldest university in West Europe. Kepler had (its still there) his observatory there.
